Start with what the site is for
Most small business websites try to say everything and end up saying very little. Before we draw anything, we ask what a good week of enquiries looks like for you, and who sends them. A garage wants MOT bookings and phone calls. A law firm wants the right type of case to reach the right solicitor. A café wants people to find the opening hours and the menu without hunting.
Once that is clear, the pages more or less write themselves: a home page that gets people to the right place quickly, a page for each service people actually search for, honest information about who you are, and a contact route that suits how you like to work.
What you get
- Design that fits your business, not a template with your logo dropped in. We work from your brand, your photos and your way of talking to customers.
- Copy that sounds like you. We can write it, edit what you have, or work from notes. Plain words, no jargon, nothing claimed that you cannot back up.
- Fast pages on a phone. Most local searches happen on a mobile, often on 4G in a car park. We build lean pages and check them on real devices.
- Pages Google can understand: one clear heading per page, proper titles and descriptions, structured data for your business, and a sitemap. See local SEO.
- Forms that reach a person. Enquiries are emailed to the address you choose, with the visitor's address set as the reply, so you just hit reply.
- Somewhere safe to live: hosting on our own managed servers, covered on the hosting and care page.
WordPress or not
Many of our business sites run on WordPress, because it is familiar and lets you edit pages and news yourself. Some are custom builds, where a site needs to be very fast or has something unusual in it. We will recommend one and explain why. Our guide WordPress or a custom build sets out how we decide.

Tannadice Motors is a Dundee garage whose site takes MOT bookings straight into the garage's own diary. MML Law needed a site that sends legal, property and financial enquiries to the right team. Both are working businesses, not showcase pieces, and both sites are judged by the enquiries they bring in.
